Coca‑Cola HBC Polska, leader in the soft drinks sector, has come first (ex aequo with Schenker) in the 11th nationwide Ranking of Responsible Companies. The award was presented at a gala held during the European Economic Forum in Katowice.
This year, the ranking was published in a new version, divided into three levels of company advancement. Individual firms were assessed from the point of view of responsible conduct of their business, responsible relations (internal and with the social and natural environment), sustainable growth, as well as responsible innovations in the area of quality of professional life, social development and environmental impact. Coca‑Cola HBC Polska (ex aequo with Schenker) received the maximum number of points and the first place in the best of the best (Diamond) category, which regards the leaders of excellence. Polpharma came second in this category (which only included nine companies), followed by Orange Polska in the third place.
The first place at the diamond level, i.e. in the highest category of this year’s ranking, would not have been possible without our employees. This success is a result of their on-going and long-term involvement in CSR activities – said Katarzyna Borucka, Public Affairs & Communication Director at Coca‑Cola HBC Polska. We enjoy the success even more as, apart from being the leader, we are both the first companies in the history of the ranking which have received the maximum number of points – she added.
The Ranking of Responsible Companies, first compiled in 2007, is a list of businesses operating in Poland and assessed in terms of their corporate social responsibility management. It allows comparisons to be made between the results achieved by individual firms and sectors in various CSR areas. The ranking is prepared by Professor Bolesław Rok from the Business Ethics Centre at the Leon Koźmiński Academy, in collaboration with Jarosław Horodecki and published by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. The substantive partner of the ranking is the Responsible Business Forum and the list is verified by Deloitte.
